Unreal Cities is in the Portuguese city of Barreiro, part of the South Margin of Lisbon, located in a unique post-industrial & rewilding landscape beside the Tagus bay, an important part of the Iberian peninsula’s ecosystem.

GETTING HERE

  • FROM LISBON

    (TTSL Terreiro do Paço <> Barreiro)

    Take the TTSL boat service from the boat station at Terreiro do Paço towards Barreiro. The boat station is connected to Terreiro do Paço station on the Lisbon Metro, and is a short walk to the south west from Praca do Comercio. The boat service takes approximately 25 minutes.

    From Barreiro boat station, you can take a taxi, bus or train (see below) to Unreal Cities, or it is approximately 30 minutes walk.

    Bicycles and dogs can be taken on the boat service.

  • Barreiro A / Lavradio (CP Barreiro <> Praia Sado A)

    FROM BARREIRO FERRY TERMINUS

    Take the CP train service from Barreiro to Praia Sado A at the north of the ferry terminal. The train usually leaves about five minutes after the boat arrives. Ride one or two stops to either Barreiro A or Lavradio.

    FROM THE SOUTH

    Barreiro A / Lavradio (CP Praia Sado A <> Barreiro)

    Take the CP train service from Praia Sado A to Barreiro from stations to the south including Setúbal, Palmela, Pinhal Novo, Alhos Vedras and Baixa do Banheira. From Setúbal the journey time is about 25 minutes to Lavradio or Barreiro A.

    FROM LISBON

    Barreiro A / Lavradio (FERTAGUS Lisbon <> Setubal + CP Praia Sado A <> Barreiro)

    Take the Fertagus train from Lisbon (various stations) to Pinhal Novo (about 40 minutes), and then change for the CP service to Barreiro, as above.

    ON ARRIVAL AT BARREIRO A OR LAVRADIO

    It takes approximately 15 minutes to walk to Unreal Cities from both stations, although the walk from Barreiro A is easier.

    FROM BARREIRO

    TCB Buses leave from the bus terminal directly in front of the boat terminal. Bus services 15 and 6 serve the industrial park where Unreal Cities is situated.

    FROM UNREAL CITIES

    The closest bus stop back to town is by the roundabout directly in front of the wasteland next to Best Buy.

  • IC21 / A39

    Unreal Cities is a short drive from the end of the highway IC21 / A39. Driving from Lisbon, it is equally convenient via the Abril 25 and Vasco da Gama bridges.

    There is ample parking available on site.
